Flavor Experience

Organic Costa Rica La Amistad is a balanced single-origin Costa Rican coffee showcasing the sweetness, clarity, and smooth character associated with high-quality Central American specialty coffee. In the cup, you'll discover rich dark caramel, creamy milk chocolate, and sweet orange marmalade, creating a layered and approachable coffee with a smooth, lingering finish.

The fully washed process enhances clarity and structure while allowing the coffee's natural sweetness to shine. Dark caramel and milk chocolate create a rich foundation, while orange marmalade adds a bright, citrusy sweetness that brings balance and complexity to the cup.

Whether enjoyed as pour over coffee, drip coffee, French press, or espresso, these freshly roasted Costa Rican coffee beans offer a versatile specialty coffee experience with a beautiful balance of chocolate, caramelized sweetness, and citrus.

Coffee Origin

Organic Costa Rica La Amistad comes from Hacienda La Amistad in Coto Brus, Puntarenas, Costa Rica, a family-owned coffee farm operated by third-generation producer Roberto Montero. Located near La Amistad International Park, the estate combines organic coffee production with a longstanding commitment to conservation and environmental stewardship.

The history of Hacienda La Amistad stretches back generations. Roberto's grandfather first came to the region in the early 1900s while surveying the border between Costa Rica and Panama and later purchased land where the family began cultivating coffee. Over time, the family returned more than 6,000 hectares to the Costa Rican government for preservation as part of La Amistad International Park.

Today, only approximately 300 hectares of the estate are dedicated to coffee cultivation, while much of the remaining property is preserved forest that provides habitat for native wildlife. Hacienda La Amistad also supports its surrounding community through year-round employment and resources for seasonal harvest workers and their families.

Organic farming, careful fully washed processing, and the distinctive growing conditions of Coto Brus come together in a coffee characterized by rich dark caramel, smooth milk chocolate, and sweet orange marmalade.
